This RV park is just 6 miles outside the west entrance to Glacier National Park. It’s in the town of Hungry Horse which got it’s name in 1900. It seems that two horses, Jerry and Tex wondered away from the logging camp in the dead of winter. One month later, the two horses were found, scrawny and ragged, but alive!
The campground is nestled in the middle of pines on a slopped hillside. The gravel sites are terraced into the slope so they are somewhat level. We have full hook up but the campground WIFI is very sketchy and cell service is marginal. We can only get 4 air channels on TV. The picnic tables easily fit 2 people but 4 is a squeeze. Amenities are sparse, one pay shower and a restroom plus a porta-potty. There is a gazebo with gas grills, a large pavilion with outlets and a playground. Up the hill there are cabins for rent and no satellite because of the trees. Management is very nice and helpful.
