Yet, another two iconic photos….I’m sure you know where we are now!!!
YOU’RE RIGHT!! TETON NATIONAL PARK AND JACKSON, WYOMING!
One of the most beautiful parks in the USA! And we were blessed with beautiful weather.
These iconic photos scream Teton National Park and Jackson Hole, Wyoming without saying a single word! And that makes me think how many of you following my blog may have already seen much of what I have been posting. I hope that following our journey has brought back many happy memories OR has lit a spark to start planning some journeys of your own to see this great land we are privileged to live in!
One thing on Marj’s bucket list was to be at the famous Mormon Barn at sunrise! So one morning we left the campground at 5:30 AM, drove about 25 minutes and sat out in about 40 degrees, awaiting the sun to come up. It was a great experience to watch the mountain sides turn various shades of pink as the sun hit the mountains. Below is a progression of the sunrise.

Another must do while in Jackson, is to go to the Bar J Wranglers Chuckwagon Supper. You get the usual cowboy grub including BBQ chicken, beef, ribs or steak, baked potato, cowboy beans, applesauce, biscuits, spice cake and drink. The best part, however is the cowboy quintet singing old time cowboy songs, poetry, jokes and history telling. I’ve been there 3 times over the years and I still enjoyed it. It’s quite a show!
It goes without saying, that while in Jackson, YOU MUST GO SHOPPING! Marj and I took care of that part of the trip!!

Great news! WE SAW BEAR!! We saw two black bear up in a big berry bush, shaking it like crazy as they feasted on the sweet berries. AND we were lucky enough to see a grizzly. We were driving along a park road and came upon parked cars and a ranger trying to move people along…..ALWAYS a good clue that there’s wildlife in the vicinity. As we were there, the grizzly crossed the road ahead of us and went into the woods again on the other side. Here are some photos….

One thing on my “to do” list was to see the mountains through the window of the Chapel of the Transfiguration, another Teton icon. Sadly, due to Covid, the chapel was closed but we still enjoyed the chapel and setting.
Enjoy more photos of the beauty we experienced in the Tetons…..

So many wonderful experiences, sights and memories as we left Jackson Hole and again hit the Happy Trails!
