Pontchartrain Landing, New Orleans, LA

This is our second time staying here at Pontchartrain Landing when visiting NOLA. This time we had a really nice site compared to last time we were here. Our site is a gravel pull through and very level. There is plenty of space between sites, unlike the back in sites. There is no shade but connectivity is great….we get over the air, satellite, call, as well as hot spot TV. Our cell phones work just great and WIFI is excellent using our hotspot (without it, WIFI is sketchy, at best). The campground is gated for an extra measure of security although we are far enough from downtown to feel safe, about 6 miles or 14 minutes. That distance also allows easy access to the French Quarter to go noising around a bit.

There is a small bath house, laundry, restaurant and swimming pool. They come around each day to collect your garbage. A shuttle is also provided ($6/person/day) which takes/gets you from the French Quarter – a very nice amenity if you do not have a car. Oh, and did I mention that Pontchartrain Landing is also a marina, so we’re “on water”.

The first time we were in New Orleans, we stayed at French Quarter RV, which is just a few blocks from the French Quarter. It’s a nice campground as well but Pontchartrain is a much better value in our opinion. If you note the price above, it seems high….but we are in a popular place and sometimes you just have to pay the going rate.

HAPPY TRAILS!
