This is a unique campground because there is water on both ends – the Atlantic on the East side and the Pamlico Sound on the West side. The sites are nicely spaced, many with shade and all with concrete pads which we appreciate.
There is a nice pool, nothing fancy but certainly refreshing! There is a store, a playground and there are bath houses which are nice enough and quite clean. Point of interest….the pic of Marj and me in the pool was taken on July 14th. We are toasting our mother’s birthday with our ice cream bars. She passed 3 years ago and she LOVED ice cream. So, every year on her birthday, we make sure we enjoy some ice cream!!
The best feature is the direct access onto the beach. You have to walk over a sizable sand dune, then a bit further onto the beach. It is the Atlantic so the waves and undertow can be significant.
Overall, a nice campground and we would come back here if ever in the area.
