The Great Divide Campground Newton, New Jersey (NYC)

This campground was an “add on” when we decided to add New York City to our existing itinerary. It’s an interesting place – rolling hills and sprawled out making it a little difficult to maneuver a big rig into your campsite. When we made our reservation, we were told that the camp sites are level…..well, Moritzes is, but ours is NOT. We decided we can manage for just two days, but it’s a bit of a challenge to hold our shower door closed with your knee because the slant causes it to open!! Hahaha! It’s amazing how your equilibrium is thrown off by a very uneven surface.

Nevertheless, we have full hook-up but the campground only has 30 amp electric service so only one air conditioner can run. Luckily, the temps here have only been in the 80’s – so tolerable. We have plenty of shade and the sites are very spacious. The cable TV is good.

Amenities include, a very nice, large swimming pool and small lake. There is also a dog park, playground, volley ball and a soccer field. There are some cute features here and there and you can follow a golf cart trail through the property. There is a small store, a game room and a laundry. There seems to be a large population of “full timers” and they do offer cabins to rent as well as a yurt and even a conestoga wagon – how fun is that?
