We are in a full hook up site here in Smuggler’s Den. We have 50 amp and this site foundation is gravel and is really level! There are bushes behind our site so you can not see the campers behind us. The sites are spacious but not real private. There is a nice swimming pool, camp store, large field for playing games, a playground, a laundry and bath houses. It’s actually about a 20 minute drive to Bar Harbor and there is a small grocery store 1 minute away – very convenient.
We encountered a “first” at this campground….they claim they have WiFi, but on checking in you are given the option of “upgrading” to and “advanced WiFi”. Because Howie had to work one day, we did upgrade which was $14.95 for one week. Even with the upgrade, our connectivity was mediocre.
It’s a bit on the pricey side, but we would stay here again.
