Cherry Hill RV Park, – Washington D. C.

Without a doubt, this is the best ever campground!!! No exaggeration – Cherry Hill is the “Disney” of the camping world!! Exactly 100 years ago, these acres were bought by a couple who made it a poultry farm – as a courtesy, they offered informal campsites for passing tourists. Five generations later, it is stillContinue reading “Cherry Hill RV Park, – Washington D. C.”

Holiday Travel-l-Park Virginia Beach, Virginia

Let me start by first saying THIS CAMPGROUND IS HUGE. It is very wooded with a variety of sites available depending on your preferences – from grassy tent sites to full hook ups with a cement pad. All in all, there are over 700 campsites. There are multiple playgrounds, a mini golf, a store, laundry,Continue reading “Holiday Travel-l-Park Virginia Beach, Virginia”

Ocean Waves RV Resort Waves, North Carolina

This is a unique campground because there is water on both ends – the Atlantic on the East side and the Pamlico Sound on the West side. The sites are nicely spaced, many with shade and all with concrete pads which we appreciate. There is a nice pool, nothing fancy but certainly refreshing! There isContinue reading “Ocean Waves RV Resort Waves, North Carolina”

Wilmington KOA, Wilmington, North Carolina

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! This is a great campground! The sites are spacious, many with shade. Wifi is present, but a bit sketchy. Full hook up with fine gravel sites. Very nice pool, playground, lounge, laundry and camp store. Location is close to shopping and restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful. Additionally, they offerContinue reading “Wilmington KOA, Wilmington, North Carolina”

Creekfire RV Resort – Savannah, Georgia

We crossed over the Florida/Georgia line and entered into the peach state. We found Creekfire RV Resort just outside of Savannah. Without doubt, Creekfire is a beautiful camping facility! It’s a sizable facility and has every amenity you could imagine or want in a campground. It has a beautiful large swimming pool, two kiddie pools,Continue reading “Creekfire RV Resort – Savannah, Georgia”

Faver-Dykes State Park Campground – St. Augustine, GA

Well, we have mixed reviews on this campground. First of all, it’s VERY ISOLATED! You have to drive several miles through a tropical jungle on a dirt road to reach this state park! There are only 28 camp sites, each one on a sandy dirt foundation but the sites are very private as you areContinue reading “Faver-Dykes State Park Campground – St. Augustine, GA”

Sarasota Sunny South, Sarasota, Florida

Let me start by saying that all four of us agree this is not really a campground, but is more of a seasonal resort. Most of the sites here are permanent “homes” with a few transient sites. That said, this is an extremely nice place to stay! The grounds are immaculate as are all theContinue reading “Sarasota Sunny South, Sarasota, Florida”

Holiday Springs RV Resort, Spring Hill, FL (Weeki Wachi)

This is a very nice, clean RV park. In truth, it is more of a permanent RV community than a campground. Most of the RV’s are park models and are very well maintained and the grounds are nicely manicured. There is laundry facilities and a large spring fed outdoor pool. It is in a niceContinue reading “Holiday Springs RV Resort, Spring Hill, FL (Weeki Wachi)”

The Hideaway Retreat, Navarre, Florida

Another winner, winner….chicken dinner! This is a hidden gem, just as the name may suggest. This campground runs along side the gulf and is nestled among many mature trees, mostly magnolias! The lots are NOT “parking lot style” but are placed a bit hodge podge which gives it all a bit of charm. As IContinue reading “The Hideaway Retreat, Navarre, Florida”

Pontchartrain Landing, New Orleans, LA

This is our second time staying here at Pontchartrain Landing when visiting NOLA. This time we had a really nice site compared to last time we were here. Our site is a gravel pull through and very level. There is plenty of space between sites, unlike the back in sites. There is no shade butContinue reading “Pontchartrain Landing, New Orleans, LA”
