Ouray RV Park and Cabins, Ouray, Colorado

This campground was pretty nice but it made us think of being parked in a big parking lot. The location was good as it was on the north edge of town. We were at the furthest northern part of the park so we had good privacy, but we were next to a construction company soContinue reading “Ouray RV Park and Cabins, Ouray, Colorado”

Fossil Valley RV Park, Vernal, UT

This was a nice campground with VERY helpful owners. It was obvious that they wanted their campers to have to best experience possible. The gravel campsites were level. There were minimal anemities here but it was located in the middle of the town. It was close to Dinosaur National Monument which is why we wereContinue reading “Fossil Valley RV Park, Vernal, UT”

Fireside RV, Wilson, Wyoming (Jackson Hole)

While we love the Jackson area, we were not impressed by Fireside RV. The location was very good….it was easy getting to most things, especially the Bar J Chuckwagon and the entrance into The Teton National Park. However, the sites had no grass, were on a slight incline and were gravel mixed with dirt. TheyContinue reading “Fireside RV, Wilson, Wyoming (Jackson Hole)”

Ponderosa Campground, Cody Wyoming

Ponderosa is a very nice campground. It’s right in the middle of town, so the location is ideal to get around. The gravel sites were quite level and had adequate space between sites. The store was exceptional….lots of supplies, groceries and a wonderful gift shop. The biggest complaint that we had was the poor WIFIContinue reading “Ponderosa Campground, Cody Wyoming”

Yellowstone Grizzly RV Campground, West Yellowstone, Montana

I cannot lie…..as soon as this campground came into view, we all knew it was a 5 out of 5! It is situated in the town of West Yellowstone, Montana but still offers a very quiet setting. The sites are beautiful….level gravel with cement pads, most are pull through with full hook up. We wereContinue reading “Yellowstone Grizzly RV Campground, West Yellowstone, Montana”

Polson/Flathead Lake KOA – Polson, MT

KOA’s are almost always great campgrounds and this one did not disappoint. The amenities were top notch – of course you pay a bit more. We had full hookups with gravel sites that were fairly level. We had a regular site with grass and a picnic table while Marj and Larry had a premier siteContinue reading “Polson/Flathead Lake KOA – Polson, MT”

Merry Widow Spa and Mine Campground – Basin, Montana

Basin is practically a ghost town but it served us well with the Merry Widow Campground for the night and a decent meal at the Silver Saddle Cafe. There used to be gold and silver mines here in the 1800’s but now it has a cafe and a couple of pizza places. I don’t rememberContinue reading “Merry Widow Spa and Mine Campground – Basin, Montana”

Mountain Meadows RV Park, Hungry Horse, Montana

So you might be asking why we are staying at two different campgrounds in the little town of Hungry Horse – a very fair question.  When we could not get into Canada due to border closure, we had to scramble to fill in the almost 5 week void.  We decided to stay in Glacier forContinue reading “Mountain Meadows RV Park, Hungry Horse, Montana”

Timber Wolf RV Park and Cabins, Hungry Horse, Montana

This RV park is just 6 miles outside the west entrance to Glacier National Park.  It’s in the town of Hungry Horse which got it’s name in 1900.  It seems that two horses, Jerry and Tex wondered away from the logging camp in the dead of winter.  One month later, the two horses were found,Continue reading “Timber Wolf RV Park and Cabins, Hungry Horse, Montana”

Ravenwood RV Resort and Campground, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

This is actually a beautiful campground, featuring a swimming pool, good size level, gravel sites with adequate space in-between, a large dog park and a playground.  There are grass side yards and large yards in the back.  There are several downsides to this campground…..first it is next to a fairly busy highway and you canContinue reading “Ravenwood RV Resort and Campground, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho”
