WE MADE IT! WE’RE BACK IN BIG SKY COUNTRY!

Today was the most beautiful yet for driving!  In spite of overcast skies and a little bit of rain, we saw the most beautiful scenery today!  Beside the beauty, we also saw some “strange” or interesting things worthy of documentation  There were so many more, but I wasn’t quick enough to capture all the sites.Continue reading “WE MADE IT! Coeur d’Alena, ID – Ravenwood RV and Campground

It was a beautiful drive to Coeur d’Alene.  We drove through miles and miles of wheat fields and through the mountains of Idaho, reaching an elevation of about 4300 feet. From a distance, you could see wheat fields at the very top of the approaching mountains.  Once on top, we were amazed to see wheatContinue reading “Coeur d’Alena, ID – Ravenwood RV and Campground”

I had no idea what I was getting into…..

Well, I think they call it needlepoint, which I’ve never done before.  But I wanted to make a pillow for our home in Florida, so when I ran across this kit, I bought it!  Wow….this is going to be a project!  I’ve been working on it for a few hours several nights now, and thisContinue reading “I had no idea what I was getting into…..”

I almost have you up to date but first I have to tell you about North Dakota, (a little bit about Montana) and Southern Idaho…….

From South Dakota, we headed directly north to Medora, North Dakota.  This is a quaint little prairie town in the middle of the Badlands and prairie on the western part of the state. Seems like a remote place to head,  but alas, they have two big attractions there. First, there is the Medora Musical.  ThisContinue reading “I almost have you up to date but first I have to tell you about North Dakota, (a little bit about Montana) and Southern Idaho…….”

So along the way, there’s going to be some rough road and you’re going to hit some bumps ……

We’ve been told that we’ll run into some issues while being on the road and to just be prepared when it happens. Until now, it’s been smooth sailing.  But as they say, when it rains, it pours…… Literally!  Our first little mishap happened as we entered a torrential downpour while driving 400+ miles one day.Continue reading “So along the way, there’s going to be some rough road and you’re going to hit some bumps ……”

Two great visits and three big special events….

So before we left on this present adventure, we had the pleasure of having a couple of visitors.  First, my sister Marj and I hosted our other 3 sisters, Donna, Bev and Lori for a week.  As always, we had a great time with lots of laughs and memory making events.  Along the way, weContinue reading “Two great visits and three big special events….”

We’re on the road again…..heading for the Wild West!

We have finally hit the road again!  Our plan is to be gone for almost 4 months, traveling through the Dakota’s, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana and back home again to Naples.  Originally we were to spend a month in the Banff/Lake Louise area but due to Covid, the border remainsContinue reading “We’re on the road again…..heading for the Wild West!”

The Country Living Magazine Fair Columbus, Ohio

OH MY GOODNESS……THIS HAPPENED IN THE FALL WHILE WE WERE IN OHIO.  I MADE THIS POST, BUT I’M AFRAID IT WAS NEVER POSTED!  (MUST HAVE BEEN ONE OF THOSE “SENIOR MOMENTS”!)  I THOUGHT IT MAY STILL BE OF INTEREST TO SOME OF YOU. While at Deer Creek State Park, about 1/2 hour away in Columbus,Continue reading “The Country Living Magazine Fair Columbus, Ohio”

EVERY JOURNEY HAS A BEGINNING… AND AN END.

Sadly, there is one more event to catch you up on.  On February 24th, we said goodbye to our precious companion for almost 16 years, Fannie May. Fannie was blind and deaf and we feared she was living a terrified life.  She was confused most of the time and she spent most of the dayContinue reading “EVERY JOURNEY HAS A BEGINNING… AND AN END.”
