Each campground will be rated on six categories: 1) Amenities; 2) Cleanliness; 3) Helpfulness and Friendliness; 4) Site features; 5) Privacy; and 6) Connectivity (WIFI/Phone/TV). We will use a 5 star scoring system for each category, then average them all together to get an over-all score. I will also include the approximate cost per night (full hook up – electricity/sewer/water).
We met up with Marj and Larry on July 7th in Rockford, IL. Our first destination was the Badlands but it was too far to drive in one day. So the first place we stayed was in Fairmont, Minnesota at a WALMART!!! Don’t laugh….we have stayed at several Walmarts since we first started traveling in Junebug. While we won’t be scoring a Walmart, we can say that we have always felt welcomed, even invited to come in to use the “facilities” before closing time. We have only stayed for an overnight as we were traveling from point A to point B, but have always felt safe and secure. WARNING: Not all Walmarts allow overnight parking – our understanding is that this is not decided by Walmart but by a city ordinance. Please remember to call your specific Walmart, prior to pulling on in!
