Basin is practically a ghost town but it served us well with the Merry Widow Campground for the night and a decent meal at the Silver Saddle Cafe. There used to be gold and silver mines here in the 1800’s but now it has a cafe and a couple of pizza places. I don’t remember seeing a gas station or a grocery store but it has a post office, a church, a fire department and an elementary school.
The campground was quite small as well, situated along side a pretty little babbling brook. Some sites were shaded but ours was in full sun. It was full hook up with a sizable cement pad and picnic table. WIFI here was better than most and I was able to do a little blogging. No air TV but the hotspot picked up enough to entertain us for the evening after dinner.
No amenities but Howie did say the shower and bathroom were quite nice.
